Jaffna Kings is a franchise cricket team that will take part in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). The franchise is owned by Sri Lanka-born British entrepreneur, Allirajah Subaskaran, the Founder and Chairman of Lyca Group of companies. Lyca Group is a British multinational corporation delivering its products and services across Telecommunications, Entertainment, Travel and Tourism, Healthcare, Media, Technology, Financial Services, Marketing and Hospitality. The group has been diversifying its businesses in the South Asian region with a strong presence in India and Sri Lanka.

To establish a professional cricket club in Jaffna that provides a pathway to excellence for local and national sports people, adopt an ethos of peace and prosperity, with community participation in cricket whilst creating brand value and enhance stakeholder returns.
